Esmeralda Garcia is a young winemaker originally from Segovia, with her family roots deeply rooted in Santiuste de San Juan Bautista, a small village in the DO Rueda. Like many areas of the province of Segovia, we find sandy soils, in fact Santiuste boasts a precious heritage of pre-phylloxera vines of Verdejo. Esmeralda takes her first steps from some of the main producers in the area, such as Avelino Vegas, starting her business with just under five hectares of Verdejo vineyards, aged between 140 and 210 years. Esmeralda considers verdejo a very structured grape, in fact she decides to develop a line of all wines 100% verdejo from a single plot, a work designed to enhance the characteristics of the different crus. Esmeralda’s wines are strong and decisive, just like her.
